The Union Chorale was formed in 1999 and directed by Scott Farrell, currently the Director of Music Ministries at Stallings United Methodist Church. Rehearsals were originally held at Christ's Church in Indian Trail, but later moved to Stallings United Methodist Church, where through the graciousness of the church, we continue to hold our rehearsals.
After 3 seasons, due to scheduling conflicts, Scott announced that he would no longer be able to direct the Chorale. Sandy Rogers, our accompanist at the time, agreed to assume the role of director for the Chorale and Anne Kimball agreed to take over the role of accompanist. Sandy is the Minister of Music at Community in Christ Lutheran Church in Cornelius, NC, and also leads the North Mecklenburg Community Chorus.
Under Sandy's creative and energetic direction, we work each Fall on Holiday music for our free Christmas concert, and each winter for our Spring concert. We have performed at the Blooming Arts Festival, Matthews Alive! and Mint Hill Madness. We have also performed in a production of Uncle Phil’s Diner, Christmas at Uncle Phil’s Diner and most recently an Italian dinner theatre production.
We are currently 30-35 members who enjoy getting together weekly to lift our voices in song and fellowship. And we welcome new members!
If you enjoy singing, please join us! No audition - just jump in and sing!
